Turkish Yachting Takes the Spotlight at Begüm Yachting’s Monaco Reception
Monaco’s international superyacht gathering provided the setting for a reception hosted by a Turkish brand this September. Held on 24 September, Begüm Yachting’s “The Great Gatsby Night” brought professionals from different countries aboard M/Y ALFA NERO, which the company chartered for the occasion.
Guests represented brokerage, yacht construction, marina operations and yacht management. Attendees included representatives from Northrop & Johnson, Fraser Yachts, Ferretti Group and Lürssen, alongside Kerim Kalafatoğlu of Ares Shipyard and José-Marco Casellini, CEO of M3 Monaco. Industry publications SuperYacht Times and Yachting Pages were also represented.
Begüm Doğulu, Founder and CEO of Begüm Yachting and President of the Yacht Tourism Association, emphasised the gathering’s significance for Türkiye’s international representation. She expressed pride in welcoming industry professionals from around the world and reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening Turkish yachting’s position internationally.
Behind the reception lies an international network developed over nearly three decades. Providing yacht agency and charter services since 1997, Begüm Yachting describes its relationships with overseas brokers and participation in international boat shows as central to its business. The company states that it provides round-the-clock services at ports throughout Türkiye, seven days a week.
The 35th Monaco Yacht Show took place at Port Hercule from 23 to 26 September, bringing together expertise across the superyacht industry. Covering fields ranging from yacht design and construction to brokerage, refit and project management, the show provides a platform for international business connections. Begüm Yachting’s reception formed part of this wider week of industry activity.
The evening closed with a musical tribute to Türkiye. At Doğulu’s request, the Turkish song “Bir Başkadır Benim Memleketim” was played, bringing the international gathering to a close with a personal reminder of the host company’s roots.
