“HİB ve 2022 Yılı İhracat Şampiyonları” ödülleri sahiplerini buldu
The Service Exporters Association (HİB) awarded the companies that exported the most services in 2022 at the "Service Exporters Meeting and Export Champions of 2022" ceremony attended by Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) President Mustafa Gültepe, HİB Chairman Şekib Avdagiç. Begüm Yachting, which is under the roof of Begüm Group of Companies, became the 9th and Barka Shipyard became the 10th highest exporting companies in the sector. Begüm Doğulu, owner of Begüm Group of Companies, received the awards.
Stating that despite the negative course in the global economy and trade, the ongoing conflicts in the region and the earthquakes on 6 February, Turkey's economy continues to invest, produce, export and provide employment, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat said: "In 2021, we grew by 11.4 percent, ranking among the 3 countries with the highest growth rate in the world. The contribution of exports of goods and services to growth was at a high level of 5.3 points. Again, while our economy grew by 5.5 per cent in 2022, our exports of goods and services made a positive contribution of half of this growth. Thus, exports continued to be the driving force of growth. In 2022, we reached a historical record of 254 billion 200 million dollars of goods exports and 89 billion dollars of services exports. Just as a mother and father do not discriminate between their children, we, as the Ministry of Commerce and the government, support and cherish our exporters in the same way at the point of export of goods and export of services."
"WE WILL EXCEED 100 BILLION DOLLARS IN SERVICES EXPORTS THIS YEAR"
Stating that exports in the services sector continued to increase in 2023, Bolat said: "In the January-September period, a service export of 75 billion dollars was achieved with an increase of 14.3 per cent. When we look at the last 12 months, the figure is close to 100 billion dollars, 98 billion 300 million dollars. Hopefully, we will exceed 100 billion dollars in services exports with the last 3 months. At this point, we especially want to express that, with the contribution of services exports, Turkey has started to record positive developments in the current account with the increase in exports of goods in foreign trade since July. In September, we had a current account surplus of approximately USD 2 billion, which is the highest monthly current account surplus in the last 23 months. We are also hopeful for October. Because our foreign trade deficit was 6.7 billion dollars. We started November well on the export front. Hopefully, we will keep the current account deficit below last year's 48 billion dollars."
Regarding the support provided by the Ministry of Commerce for services exports, Bolat said, "Support payments of 1 billion lira in 2022 and 1 billion 700 million lira in 2023 were made to our service exporters. The support we provide to our service exporters will reach 2.5 billion liras by the end of the year. For next year, we have prepared support packages of over 5 billion liras. I can already give the good news of this."
