Begüm Doğulu: "Türkiye’ye Demir Attılar"
Begüm Doğulu, President of the Yacht Tourism Association and owner of Begüm Yachting, pointed out that the government took an extremely fast decision and made the sea border gates functional, "The Turkish maritime tourism sector was prevented from experiencing losses against Greece and Croatia, with which it competes. While Greece only allows yachts to enter with the crew, the sector has been enabled to take a step forward in the commercial competition with Greece." Reminding that 3,500 foreign flagged yachts came to Turkey last year and 200 of them were mega yachts, Doğulu said, "We anticipate that we will experience a 40 per cent contraction due to factors such as the fluctuating course of the virus and Europe's travel warnings to its citizens against countries outside the EU in order to keep the money within itself. However, despite all the negativities, 120 mega yachts will moor in our country this year. In total, 2 thousand foreign flagged yachts will arrive," he said.
